Position Summary:

The Solutions Analyst plays a key sales and thought leadership role within the broad Clinical Assessment organization. These positions are the primary consulting resources for our customers in North America, providing both pre- and post-sales support directly to customers in conjunction with our sales and training teams.

This team, consisting of top experts in the field, is the face of Pearson at industry events. These analysts act as our field experts that know our products and services better than anyone else. Working with the professional sales team, these experts are deployed when and where we need them in our key markets. Solutions Analysts use their professional knowledge of the market, gained from extensive formal education and field experiences, to identify and sell solutions that address the problems that customers are trying to solve for their clients (i.e., provide intervention/treatment through accurate diagnosis and intervention). Solutions Analysts are laser-focused in helping the sales team close key deals, in resolving customer problems, and in providing consultation to customers and our sales team to promote a successful customer experience that leads to purchases and renewals. As a group, Solutions Analysts support the entire clinical portfolio, while Individual Analysts typically focus on specific market and/or geographic sectors.

Solutions Analysts are expected to develop and deliver pre- and post-sales consultation support in assigned geographic areas for designated portfolios/markets within the Clinical Assessment organization. Working in partnership with the professional sales team, they have extensive direct contact with clients at all levels of the customer journey. The primary goal for Solutions Analysts is to help the Clinical Assessment division achieve quota by providing content- and practice-based consultation and support to customers at multiple points in their journey with Pearson Clinical Assessment. As part of the overall sales and customer success initiatives, Solutions Analysts also collaborate with the professional sales team and other cross-functional teams to analyze market trends and needs as new approaches to assessment and intervention are developed and implemented to achieve greater market penetration.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide expert-level, advanced content and practice-related pre-sales support to customers in assigned market and geographic areas (help the professional sales teams close deals through content and practice-based consultation)…..45%

  • Conduct sales and other professional presentations with assigned customers/accounts and professional organizations.

  • Maintain notes in One CRM as part of an Opportunity Team.

  • Participate in developing and delivering the Clinical Assessment national webinars as part of our marketing and thought-leadership activities.

Develop and deliver “select account” professional consultation, management, and/or training to retain and build business…..30%

  • Develop and deliver post-sale training and consultation support for select external customers in assigned areas of responsibility.

Other duties, as assigned…..25%

  • Develop and deliver training for internal sales staff and other team members at designated internal meetings.

  • Serve as a liaison with designated Portfolio/Market Leads in the Product Group of Pearson Clinical Assessment to be the voice of the customer, and advise and develop materials to support portfolios.

  • Develop and deliver content for professional organizations at the national, regional, and state levels.

  • Provide presentations to specific customers related to specific professional/clinical expertise, regardless of geographic/primary market assignment.

  • Participate in the RFP process.


  • A Master's degree in education, psychology, special education, or a closely related field and aminimum of 3 years of experience as an educator or clinician working in the field.

Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • This role requires premiere content knowledge. While Solutions Analysts collaborate with immediate colleagues, it is a requirement that individuals be able to complete a significant portion of work independently. Solutions Analysts must be able to develop and deliver practice- and content-based presentations autonomously, without extensive help from training or R&D staff. Therefore, having the ability to conduct product demos and overviews is insufficient in this role. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability (and willingness) to develop and conduct high-level professional (practice- and content-based) presentations independently. Candidates for Solutions Analysts positions must also have a demonstrated ability (and willingness) to present effectively to large groups.

  • While autonomous work is required, it is imperative that the Solutions Analysts also be individuals who have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with opportunity team members who do not have clinical or educational field experience; this role is not about personal egos. They must also have a demonstrated ability to work well with customers under a variety of circumstances.

  • Solutions Analysts must also be able to articulate (and use effectively in presentations) the professional and market trends pertaining to assessment in assigned areas (i.e., MTSS, clinical applications in healthcare, coding, etc.).

  • Due to the significant customer contact demands associated with this position, Solutions Analysts must possess strong organizational skills, and a broad understanding of many assessment tools so that they are able to respond customer needs appropriately and in a timely manner. The ability to shift focus quickly and be responsive to customer inquiries during live sessions is essential.

  • The position requires extensive expertise with the products and services available in our Education market, with a focus being on general education assessments and interventions. The ability to develop and deliver practice and content-based presentations related to a broad array of general education tools autonomously is a must.
