The Office of Accountability and Compliance, Human Research Protections Office (HRPO)has an opportunity forInstitutional Review Board Administrator.The Human Research Protections Office (HRPO) is the coordinating office for the Human Research Protections Program, and provides support for the UMB Institutional Review Board (IRB). The IRB Administrator provides technical and administrative review of human research application materials prior to submission to the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Provides support and guidance to investigators from initial proposal review and submission through completion of the study. Coordinates submission and revisions with the Board.

Performs pre-committee analysis of protocols; reviews for completeness and compliance with regulations and IRB policies.
Begins assessment of human subjects research proposals, ensuring compliance with Office, University, and FDA policies and determine when IRB requirements of approval have been met and issue approval documentation.
Attends IRB meetings and writes detailed meeting summaries regarding ethical and medical issues analyzed by committee and documents the final determinations of the IRB.
Serves as liaison between IRB and investigators.
Writes clear and detailed correspondence to investigators.
Maintains clear and accurate IRB files both electronically and as hard copies.
Ensures that ethical issues are addressed.
Other related duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Experience: Three (3) years’ experience working with an research administration, including human subject. Prior IRB experience preferred..
**Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skill in relevant PC applications.
Skill in communicating efficiently and effectively both orally and in writing with a variety of people internal and external to the organization
