Responsible for the timely, courteous, and competent transportation of patients throughout the Johns Hopkins Hospital and Outpatient Center, primarily via wheelchair or stretcher. Receives assignments for specific trips and associated tasks from Supervisor and/or Customer Service Representatives. Delivers and retrieves transport equipment throughout the campus area, as directed. Participates in performance of maintenance and minor repair work on wheelchairs and stretchers. Accepts additional assignments related to support functions as is needed to provide service excellence to both internal and external customers.

Graduation from an accredited high school or a G.E.D. Certificate
Certification as Healthcare Transporter desirable but not required.
Working Conditions: Work requires walking and standing for greater than 90% of the time. Work requires facilitating patient movement to and from transport equipment; lifting of up to fifty pounds of equipment or patient-related items; moving or pushing of up to 250 pounds alone, or up to 450 pounds with the help of others, primarily in the transport of patients.
