Hughes has an exciting opportunity for a Security Analyst to join the Security Operations Center (SOC) team and help protect HughesNet, the next generation offering of broadband via satellite.
Defines, designs, and administers network security systems used for data communications and recommends improvements necessary to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s high traffic, business critical internet production environment.
Monitor for indications of compromise.
Find vulnerabilities and propose remediation steps to critical business systems.
Perform daily analysis and reporting on system logs and network traffic.
Position requires on call support.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Security or related field
1 year of experience in TCP/IP
1 year direct experience with IDS/IPS, firewall, or SEM/SIM tools
Knowledge of SANS
Technical certifications (i.e. GCIA, GCFW, or GCIH).
Understanding of Linux, Windows server, shell scripting, Vulnerability Scanning, XSS/SQL injection or database attacks are all a plus.
Familiarity with ISO 17799 and PCI standards is also desirable.
