ActioNet has an immediate opportunity for a Senior IT Project Manager requiring a public trust clearance located in Germantown, MD. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense. In this role, you will be responsible for managing projects assigned by the federal Program Management Office and/or Contractor Management. The project manager is expected to handle functions from strategic planning and organizing, to looking into the minute details of assigned projects, to include Microsoft Office 365 Migration specific projects, impacting cost, schedule, and performance.
The project manager is responsible for setting and meeting deadlines, facilitating communication between teams and senior management, scheduling and assigning tasks, and effectively communicating to project stakeholders. The PM will be assigned multiple projects at a time, therefore the project manager should have excellent multitasking skills. Prioritization of projects will be managed through the federal Program Management Office and Contractor Management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Effectively elicits, analyzes, documents, and confirms stakeholder objectives, requirements, and current email environment.
Defines and documents project tasks and resource requirements, and estimated durations.
Develops project proposals based on preliminary designs and solution plans.
Leads the planning and implementation of assigned projects.
Develops full scale project plans following an established project framework.
Assembles and coordinates project staff by working with functional managers and leads to allocate resources and time.
Plans, prepares, and maintains project timelines, milestones, and project decision gates.
Tracks project deliverables using appropriate tools and obtains federal approval for each decision gate and overall project completion.
Provides direction and support to assigned project team and matrix resources.
Ensures quality assurance is applied to all assigned projects.
Monitors and reports on progress of the project to all stakeholders using the designated status update methods; identifies the appropriate project metrics to report on and devices effective methods in which to report.
Presents reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions.
Identifies and manages project risks and issues; identifies risk mitigation strategies as applicable.
Implements and manages project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
Experience managing Microsoft Office 365 Migrations, preferably for Federal customers.
Minimum of 5 years work experience as a project manager in the information technology sector.
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
Excellent planning and organization skills; ability to multitask across multiple stakeholder groups.
Excellent business management and developmental skills
Efficient team management skills
Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure and Microsoft Office 365 Exchange Online.
Effective critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
Active PMP certification
Microsoft Project experience.
- Federal or DoD IT Project Management experience.
