  • As a Social Science Analyst your duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing technical guidance and assistance relating to the scientific and administrative program planning and evaluation activities.
  • Communicating behavioral and social science theories, methods, and analyses to a wide range of audiences.
  • Analyzing and evaluating data to determine the effectiveness of scientific programs, policies, and organizational processes.
  • Developing and implementing policies and programs for the organization.
  • Developing and evaluating persuasive communications and outreach activities.

Qualifications

Basic qualification requirements:

I have a degree in the behavioral or social sciences or related discipline appropriate to the position. OR I have a combination of education and experience that provide me with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR I have four years of appropriate experience that demonstrate that I have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

In addition, you must meet the following additional qualification requirement to qualify at the GS-14 level: *One year of specialized experience equivalent to theGS-13* grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to:** analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of behavioral and social science programs, policies and processes; plan and conduct scientific workshops and conferences; advise leadership on modification and implementation of long-range program goals; analyze behavioral and social science programs to develop new initiatives and policies.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
