The Business Analystwill work with IT Staff and Business Users from all levels of the organization to analyze business processes, to gatherand document project requirements, uncover gaps andrecommend appropriate business or technical solutions. In this role, the Business Analyst willdevelop comprehensive test plans and complete functional testing of new programs or enhancements. The ideal candidate has the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and translate business data into digestible information that improves corporate processes.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Learn various software platforms and gain a deep understanding of the underlying functionality.Stay up-to-date on the latest processes and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.2.Identify the current- and future-state business processes and life insurance products offered,3.Identify ways to improve the usability and efficiency of the applications and make suggestions for improvement.4.Gather critical information from meetings with stakeholders. Ensure that the company's business needs are met by evaluating the business need with the requirements gathered.5.Gather and document user requirements for business processes6.Conduct meetings and presentations to effectively communicate findings to cross functional team members and management.7.Identify and escalate risks as appropriate8.Develop comprehensive E2E test cases at the application and multi-application levels. Complete comprehensive functional testing to ensure quality deliverables9.Create or update procedures for new programs or enhancements.10.Facilitate user acceptance testing and business unit sign-off11.Determine needs and coordinate training when new programs or releases are promoted to production.12.Manage competing resources and priorities and provide off hours support for issues and project implementations.Supervisor Responsibilities:NoneEDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent related experience

  • LOMA courses desiredEXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years previous experience in business analysis or quality assurance testing

  • 2+ years previous experience in the life insurance industry in any area or areas which would provide an overall knowledge of Life Insurance Operations and Administration systems.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of management

  • Experience with business, functional and non-functional requirements

  • Experience in user testing and requirements gathering and documentation

  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office is required.

  • General knowledge of life insurance operations and strong business knowledge particularly pertaining to Life and Annuity products

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrated history of taking ownership of problems and seeing them through to resolution

  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects

  • Ability to complete projects timely and accurately

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment

  • Practical application ability with Microsoft Visio preferred

  • Experience with JIRA a PLUS
