Description/Job Summary

Job Summary: Performs a wide variety of record keeping and payroll processing activities, including computing wage and overtime payments, calculating and recording payroll deductions, processing requests for paycheck advances, and processing terminations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare and process full cycle weekly, bi-weekly and / or semi-monthly multi-state payroll (DC/MD/VA) for 200+ employees through ADP Vantage.

  • Perform special entry adjustments for all types of payroll related transactions (i.e. new hire, termination, leave of absence, garnishments, etc.) into payroll system

  • Research, analyze, resolve, and communicate any payroll discrepancies in a timely manner

  • Audit each payroll for accuracy and ensure timely processing

  • Maintain company payroll files and ensure compliance with all payroll rules, regulations, and that internal controls are maintained, including manual check logs

  • Assist with the testing for ADP Vantage releases and new system configurations to the ADP Time

  • Answer employee questions related to payroll and resolve any issues

  • Distribute pay cards, manual checks and pay advices

  • Receive and process direct deposit and tax withholding forms

  • Provide employees with wage garnishment information

  • Prepare and create standard and ad hoc reports in ADP Report Writer

  • Review and verify accuracy of billing documents, data and supporting documentation as needed

  • Research and respond to inquiries regarding billing issues and problems

  • Create new billing formats as needed

  • Effectively interact and communicate with client, project managers and account managers

  • Function side-by-side with HR and SIRTS to achieve data quality and consistency

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3- 5 years of relevant payroll experience

  • Experience in working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, balancing multiple and shifting priorities

  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite applications

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel

  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, while meeting deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

  • Experience with ADP Vantage, Enterprise or Workforce, preferred

  • Proficiency with Access, PowerPoint, Power Query, preferred
