Purpose, Scope & Dimension of Job: The nursing supervisor has accountability for the complete operations of the Nursing/Clinical Care Services within the community. This individual is responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing in the planning, organizing and directing the overall operations of Nursing/Clinical Care Services within the community during the designated shift. To achieve this, they ensure competency of all Clinical and supportive staff and provide direction, oversight, support and guidance for all residents living in Comprehensive Care/Heath Care. They have accountability and responsibility for all clinical operations and supervise the highly individual care needs of our residents. Supervisory Responsibility: Direct reports include RN, LPN, CGNA, CMT, CMA, and Restorative Aide. Essential Duties/Major Accountabilities: 1. Model the transforming culture of Integrace by demonstrating knowledge and awareness of the mission, vision, and values through leadership practices and decisions. Consistently reveal Integrace's guiding principles and supporting behaviors of the transforming culture to all associates, visitors, and residents. 2. Provides oversight responsibility for all levels of leadership, culture philosophy and the values of INTEGRACE into the specific functional discipline of the incumbent and executes assignments within a culture that is shared and collaborative across all INTEGRACE communities. 3. Maintains a philanthropic leadership role in cultivating and developing major and planned charitable gifts that support INTEGRACE and effectively represents INTEGRACE to the local community at large. 4. Effectively coaches, directs, leads and supports all clinical services colleagues. 5. Collaborates with the Director of Nursing in identifying education and development needs of clinical service colleagues. 6. Pro-actively manages staffing levels to increase productivity, while operating under budgeted salary expense. 7. Provides proper education in the use of supplies and equipment and maintains appropriate documentation standards. 8. Determines product and equipment needs and provides effective control for all inventories and supplies. 9. Keeps abreast of new product information for both supplies and equipment. 10. Monitors incident reporting and provides follow-up, as needed. 11. Provides oversight to colleagues in Medicare documentation to assure accuracy in coding and reimbursement. 12. Initiates and provides ongoing resident contact and provides support and education to families regarding their journey and concerns. 13. Develops colleague efficiency in utilization of monitoring tools to measure resident outcomes for nursing services. 14. Initiates audit process to evaluate appropriateness of documentation to assure required clinical practice standards are achieved and exceeded. 15. Monitor infection control procedures and practices. 16. Makes continuous rounds to assure quality care is provided. 17. Oversees long term care regulatory compliance and initiates a leadership role in the survey process. 18. Provides opportunities to advance supervisory staff knowledge in leadership, management and clinical areas. 19. Acts as the liaison to the medical staff to maximize service delivery to resident community. 20. Provides oversight to all staff using the EHR and monitors to ensure they are using the EHR consistently and correctly. Key Performance Expectations and Accountability Standards for all Department Staff: 1. Consistent and timely attendance. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. 2. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland 3. Knowledge of the principles, practices and regulations of long term care. 4. At least 3-5 years of management/supervisor experience in long term care. 5. Effective supervisory and delegation skills in order to lead and direct nursing staff. 6. Ability to effectively and efficiently complete goals 7. Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with residents and staff 8. Skillful in use of technology to accomplish goals and ensure program growth Skillful in the maintenance of clinical records. Additional Preferred Qualifications: 1. CPR and First Aid certified Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 35 lbs. Hours/Schedule: Monday through Friday and every other weekend. This position also requires the availability to be on call, as needed.
